Introduction
Adobe announced the availability of Lightroom Mobile for Android phones. Lightroom mobile is the Apple iOS or Android app version of Lightroom 5 desktop.
The iPhone and iPad version of the LR has been out for some time now (find my full review here), and is virtually identical to the Android version.
Advanced cross-platform and device image synchronisation
Lightroom mobile offers the ability to process images, edit, organize and share from anywhere and at any time. It is built on a powerful cloud synchronization architecture and allows users to manage and process images from the desktop, mobile devices, and the web. You’ll need to have and Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan to synchronize your images from and to desktop, smartphone and tablet.
Lightroom mobile features
- Automatically add photos that are imported in the smartphone gallery and sync back to the Lightroom catalog to your computer.
- Synchronising mobile photo editing, metadata collection and changes to the Lightroom catalog on a Mac or Windows computer.
- Processing images with the familiar Lightroom tools in a non-destructive way using Smart Previews.
- Quick flag and disapprove of photos.
Pricing and Availability
Lightroom mobile is now available for free download for Android phones and tablets via the Google Play store. Customers must have Lightroom 5.4 or higher or compatible Adobe Creative Cloud membership.

The Creative Cloud Photography Plan ( € 9.99 per month excluding VAT) is a comprehensive photography solution for both the professional photographers and hobbyist. It contains Lightroom, Photoshop and Lightroom mobile with direct access to the latest updates as soon as they are released.
New customers can download Lightroom mobile as a free trial for 30 days. After this test period of 30 days, it is necessary to become a member of Creative Cloud if you want to continue using it.
