Mitakon 50mm F0.95 Speedmaster range

The Mitakon 50mm SPEEDMASTER 0.95 lens is one of the most anticipated lenses for the new Sony Full Frame E-mount system. Pre-orders will start next week at a price of around 780$ with the first batch being sent out mid-May 2014. The ZY Optics 50mm only weighs 720 grams and is designed to be kept as small as possible (87mm x 68.5mm) while preserving the highest possible image quality. It has a 58mm thread.

The asymmetric double Gauss-type lens consists of 10 elements in 7 groups using a combination of four lanthanide Glass elements with a high refractive index and low dispersion glass. Lens distortion does not exceed 2% overall with image plane field curvature less than 0.1mm. Minimum aperture is set at f/16.

The Mitakon 50mm indeed looks like a beauty on paper, and I will be reviewing this lens soon, stay tuned!
