Zeiss unveiled the new lenses from the Milvus line last week, and tomorrow the German manufacturer will reveal their Loxia 85mm f/2.4, designed for full-frame Sony E-mount.
Optimized ZEISS Sonnar design
The new ZEISS Loxia 2.4 / 85 is designed for digital cameras. Based on an optimized ZEISS Sonnar design, it uses seven lenses arranged in seven groups. The lens has a minimum focusing distance of 0.8 m, and the manual focus ring has a rotation angle of 220 °to allow for perfect focus. The large aperture of f/2.4 in combination with the high-quality optical design provides an attractive background blur effect. Like the previous lenses of the family Loxia, this model is equipped with a De-Click and EXIF electronic interface, which transmits data from the lens to the camera body.
Price and Availability
The lens will be available in mid-December 2016 and its price will be around 1400 Euro or 1499 dollar.
